Deep tissue massage uses a slower, more focused approach than the flowing strokes usually associated with Swedish massage. It can suit someone who prefers firmer pressure or wants particular attention on areas such as the shoulders, back, or legs.
Firmer should still feel manageable. Tell your therapist where you would like attention and how much pressure feels comfortable. You can ask for lighter pressure, a change of focus, or a pause at any point; there is no need to tolerate pain to make the session worthwhile.

Planning the time you book
Think about how many areas you want to focus on before choosing a session. If you have one main priority, explain it when you arrive so your therapist can plan the available time with you. A longer session allows a less hurried pace when you want attention across several areas.
The menu shows the current appointment lengths and prices. Selecting a price opens the corresponding Fresha service, where you can check available times before confirming a booking.
03
Deep tissue or Swedish?
Choose deep tissue when you prefer focused, firmer pressure. Swedish massage may be a better starting point if you want gentler, flowing work and general relaxation. Your preference matters more than choosing the strongest option.
If you are unsure, call before booking and describe the kind of session you want. For a shared appointment, the couples menu also offers a deep tissue option.
Before you book
A few useful answers.
Does deep tissue massage have to hurt?
No. Pressure should stay within your comfort level. Let your therapist know if anything feels sharp, uncomfortable, or too intense so the approach can be adjusted.
Can I ask for attention on a particular area?
Yes. Share your priorities before the session and talk through how to use the time you have booked. You can also ask to avoid an area or change the pressure during the massage.
Can hot stones be included?
Hot stones can be incorporated into massage sessions. Ask before booking to confirm the combination, appointment length, and price for the session you want.
